Description

I recently got ahold of some Hirst Art molds, and, before undertaking anything too elaborate, I wanted to make a few test casts to get the hang of the process of making terrain for fantasy gaming. This was the result.

HIRST ARTS!  :D  I love Castlemolds.  A friend of mine has, if not every Hirst Arts Castlemold, at least a majority of them.  (He lets me borrow them, but he's far more meticulous about casting the blocks than I am.  My castings work all right for "ruins" and such, but he has it down pat to make sure the blocks come out of the molds all nice and even, so they fit together into nice, orderly constructions.)

I recognize the frowny-face piece from the Dwarven Bridge set.  Judging by the looks of the exterior blocks, I'm guessing you hacked/chipped away at the edges a bit with a tool, before painting?  I LOVE the little patches of growth in between the blocks.  I've tried that with flocking (and sometimes with green thread to suggest "crawling vines"), but not with the static grass.
